Making your own broom is a unique and very satisfying experience! We hope you will join us in the spring, when the weather gets nice enough for outdoor broom making.
Once you arrive for your session, you'll first select your handle. Our handles are made from unfinished ash or finished hickory branches. We have 3 sizes to choose from: Small (12 inch handle), Medium (21 inch handle), Large (42 inch handle).
Our broom corn comes from the sorghum wheat plant, and is excellent for broom making. We currently have natural, red and black broomcorn, as well as different "color splash bundles" to make your broom pop! Some of our broomcorn is cut, and other bundles are kept as long stalks.
Some folks keep their brooms rustic and simple. Others like to customize their brooms even further. You can purchase extra embellishments such as dried flowers, pendants, charms, bones, crystals, lace, leather & more.
Once you gather your materials, come on over to our broom maker's station for some instruction and guidance by our knowledgable staff. Broom making takes about 45 minutes.
For workshops, there is a $10 instruction fee per person, in addition to your materials. This will also reserve your spot. Brooms include the handle, broomcorn, twine, a color splash bundle, and your choice of charm. The cost is as follows:
Hope to see you here!
