General FAQs

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR MY WORKSHOP?

  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the start of your workshop. (DO NOT ARRIVE TOO EARLY, OR YOU WILL BE WAITING OUTSIDE) This will allow ample time to select materials before the instruction begins. If you are late, we cannot start over for you. You may need to get a kit-to-go.

WHAT  WILL I EXPERIENCE?

  • Our workshops are immersive crafting sessions! We do not incorporate witchcraft history lessons, have people dressed as witches or do spells during our workshops. We make brooms! Some are there to make witches brooms, others are there to make brooms for decoration.  All are welcome. We do have a broom lore sheet that you can take a picture of, if you are interested in brooms and folklore. By the way, if you love all things witchy, we also have a live performance called Moon Witch! It is sold out for October, but will become a year-round event soon. You can check it out here!

THE CALENDAR ISN'T SHOWING ANY WORKSHOP SPOTS AT THE DATE/TIME I'D LIKE TO SIGN UP FOR, WHAT DO I DO?

  • If the calendar is blank for a specific workshop it means that the workshop is completely sold out, there are a few ways to move forward from there.

                       1. Get a kit-to-go: If you can't get a spot in one of our workshops you can always get a kit-to-go in store. (Our online store is closed for October). Kits-to-go are available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. (OCTOBER: Please check our website for dates/times you can purchase broom making kits-to-go).

.2. Continue checking availability: There is a chance that people will cancel reservations before their workshop. If this is the case,

those workshop spots will become open again for another customer to book, however, there is no guarantee that this will happen.

WHAT IS THE INITIAL PAYMENT FOR?

  • An initial payment of $50/person (plus $3.12 sales tax) is required to hold spots for all broom making and bookbinding workshops at The Witchery. This deposit will be subtracted from your remaining total at the end of the workshop. Please check out the broom making and bookbinding FAQs below for additional information on pricing.

I NEED TO RESCHEDULE MY WORKSHOP RESERVATIONS, HOW DO I DO THIS?

  • You can reschedule your workshop reservations through the confirmation email you initially received upon booking your spots for the workshop. YOU MUST RESCHEDULE EACH AND EVERY WORKSHOP APPOINTMENT INDIVIDUALLY. We may not be able to accommodate your group if your appointments are erroneously scheduled. (If you need to reschedule 4 workshop reservations you must reschedule 4 different times).

I NEED TO CANCEL MY RESERVATION, CAN I GET A REFUND?

  • You can receive a full refund for the deposits you've paid if you cancel your reservation at least 24 hours in advance of the start of your workshop. Reservation cancellation can be done through the confirmation email you initially received upon booking your spots for the workshop, after cancelling your reservations, give us a call and we will be able to refund you the amount that you paid for your deposits. There are no refunds for late cancellations, tardiness, or "no shows".

WHAT DO I DO IF I AM RUNNING LATE TO MY APPOINTMENT?

  • Please give us a call to let us know when you expect to arrive; If we do not hear from you we will assume you aren't coming and we may give your spot to a walk-in. If you are not present when the instruction portion of the workshop has begun we cannot start over for you. Missed appointments are not eligible for a refund but we will work with you to try and reschedule your reservations, or you can put your deposit towards a kit-to-go.

CAN I BOOK A WORKSHOP FOR JUST MY PARTY?

  • Yes, if you have 8 or more people in your party, fill out this form to inquire about booking a private broom making, bookbinding, spelljar, or open crafting workshop. If you would like to book a private workshop but have fewer than 8 people in your party, you will still be required to pay for 8 workshop reservations. (Please note that we cannot guarantee we will have the availability in our schedule to add private workshops).

WHEN CAN I COME INTO THE STORE?

  • We are primarily a crafting space. However, our retail shop at 86 Wharf St. is usually open from 10:30am - 5:00pm. (OCTOBER: we reserve the right to close our retail shop at any time so that our workshops can run smoothly).

CAN MY CHILD PARTICIPATE IN THE WORKSHOP?

  • All broom making and bookbinding workshops are ages 13+ (no exceptions). However, you can always purchase a kit-to-go or broom decorating kit and help your child make their craft at home. Please also consider booking a Private Open Crafting Party which is not limited to ages 13+ (must book for a group of 8 or more for private parties).

CAN MY FRIENDS/FAMILY STAY AND WATCH WHILE I AM IN THE WORKSHOP?

  • No, our workshop space is open only to those who are participating in the workshop. If your group requires more flexibility in class size for observers/supervisors/troop leaders/parents, consider inquiring about a private workshop. If someone in your party requires additional assistance due to a disability please contact us prior to your workshop and we will work with you to figure out necessary accommodations.

CAN MY PARTY WORK ON ONE CRAFT TOGETHER?

  • No, everybody participating in a broom making or bookbinding workshop must be working on their own craft.

WHEN IS MY WORKSHOP?

  • After reserving your spot(s) in a workshop you should receive an email with confirmation of your booking as well as the date, time, and location of your workshop. All time are in EST(Eastern Standard Time) but receipts may say otherwise! If you have not received this email please give us a call and we can help you figure out what went wrong.
